A man has been charged with sexually harassing a Filipino woman in a swimming pool in Dubai. The incident allegedly happened on April 13, when the man, 27, who works as a driver, touched the woman’s thigh while she was swimming.
The woman said she was shocked at the contact but the man was indifferent and kept smiling, Khaleej Times reported.
The woman filed a complaint at the Port Police Station and the man was arrested. Two of his companions reportedly confessed that the man touched the woman inappropriately and the man said he was sorry for what he did.
On Monday, the Dubai Court of First Instance heard from a Filipino man had been with the victim’s group of friends that the woman had been touched and harassed by the suspect.
The suspect’s two companions were referred to the Court of Misdemeanors on alcohol-related charges. A sentence will be handed down on September 30.
