A Filipino domestic worker has returned home after suffering injuries after falling from a building to escape her employer in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In May, the domestic worker named Edith tried to escape from her employer’s apartment on the fourth floor of a building using a rope. However, she fell and suffered injuries and was brought to a hospital, GMA News reported.

According to Mary Anne Hipe, the domestic worker’s case officer, when she spoke to Edith, the domestic worker told her she was homesick and wanted to leave her employer. The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah helped Edith after her case was brought to them by concerned Filipino workers.

According to the report, Edith arrived in Saudi Arabia on March 7 and worked for a few months with her employer. The incident happened in the last week of May and she spent months recuperating from the fall.
