A 31-year-old domestic worker was arrested by Hong Kong police and charged with child abuse on Wednesday. The maid’s 32-year-old female employer called police after she suspected the domestic worker had abused her three-year-old son in an apartment in Yuen Long in the New Territories, Oriental Daily reported.
The Oriental Daily report did not mention the nationality of the domestic worker. The incident is alleged to have happened in an apartment in The Spectra, a private housing block at 8 Kwong Yip Street in Yuen Long.
The employer told police she suspected the domestic worker hit her son with her hands. Police arrived and found the boy had no injuries, but he was taken to Pok Oi Hospital for medical checks before being transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for a further check.
The domestic worker has been detained by police while an investigation is being carried out.
another crazy employer..sometimes they just accused their helper of something they didn’t do simply because they’re not happy with their helper. An alibi to get rid of her so they don’t have to pay any amount for the termination of contract.that’s in my own opinion only????
I was thinking the same, stupid employer
Before you detain a person you should have conducted enough evidence against the person!
Someone I know was accused with the same by her emoyers after 6 yrs of working with them… Just bec. They don’t want to pay her long service. Was cleared of wrong doing and the case was dismissed but she spent 10 months in a shelter home with out work and pay.. And after all this.. She was not given the long service pay.. She lost a lot and suffered a lot for doing nothing but work for 6 yrs with that family…. Very unfair treatment… Really
