A 34-year-old pre-school English teacher was arrested for alleged drug trafficking in Yuen Long in the New Territories on Monday.

The British man who holds a Hong Kong identity card had been there for three years and was working as an English teacher at a pre-school learning center in Fanling, the Sing Pao Daily reported.

Acting on the tip-off, the special duties unit from Yuen Long Police Station waited outside a hotel on Tin Yan Road in Tin Shui Wai and stopped the man when he left the hotel and searched him.

Police found 30 grams of marijuana and four tabs of LSD bearing pictures of Mickey Mouse worth about HK$9,000 (US$1,150) and an electric scale.

It was reported the man resisted arrest and attacked the officers before being subdued. Two police officers aged 38 and 27 suffered injuries to their abdomens and knees and were sent to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment.
