Chinese Internet giant Tencent will invest 30 billion yuan to build its North China Information Technology Industry Headquarters in Huailai county in Hebei province, The Paper reported.
According to the agreement signed by the two parties, Tencent will invest in three data centers in the county. When the project completes in 2022, it is expected to have about one million servers operating in the area. It will be the largest and highest-level integrated industrial base of cloud computing in the company’s history.
Ma Huateng, the chairman and CEO of Tencent, has repeatedly stated in public that in the future, all industries will use artificial intelligence to process big data in the cloud.
Based on these data centers, Tencent will further open up big data and cloud computing capabilities to help promote digital innovation in various industries.
According to public data, Tencent is the company with the largest number of servers in the country. Its integrated data centers have covered 24 regions around the world, with more than 1,300 CDN nodes.
