Robbers dressed as military personnel stole more than 21 million pesos (US$395,400) from a major bank in Tuguegarao, a city in the Philippine province of Cagayan.

At 8pm on Tuesday at Metrobank’s main branch in Tuguegarao, five men dressed in police camouflage uniforms introduced themselves as military personnel who were ordered to do an inspection in the bank, Rappler reported.

The five men entered the bank and tied up the security guards. The men took out their firearms and proceeded to the second floor of the bank, where employees were sorting cash to be put inside the vault.

After ordering the employees to lie face-down, the men took more than 21 million pesos and ran to a van that was waiting outside the bank.

The police recovered a teargas grenade and a 5.56-caliber live round  that was left by the suspects in the sorting room.

No on was injured during the robbery.
