Police are hunting two South Asian men for allegedly attacking a Pakistani man with a knife in Tuen Mun, the New Territories in the early hours of Monday morning.
At 3am, two men knocked on the door of a village house in Sun Fung Wai in Tuen Mun’s Lam Tei, saying they were looking for someone, Oriental Daily reported.
When a 37-year-old Pakistani man opened the door he was punched by one of the attackers while the other took out a knife and stabbed him.
After the victim received several stab wounds to his left arm, the two attackers fled the scene, and the victim’s Indonesian wife reported the attack to the police. Paramedics arrived and sent the injured man to hospital for medical treatment.
A police search of the area failed to find the two suspects. The victim claimed that he did not know the attackers or the reason why they assaulted him. Officers classed the case as wounding and did not rule out the possibility that the attack related to a dispute among South Asians.
Two South Asian men, both around 1.75 meters tall and of medium build, are sought by the police in connection with the incident. At the time of the attack, one man was wearing a black top and the other was wearing a white top.
