A Filipino domestic worker in Saudi Arabia has praised the generosity of her employers, who have not only given her luxury gifts but have helped cover her daughter’s medical expenses and contributed thousands of pesos to help her build a house in the Philippines.

Mhai San Pedro, 31, said they treated her as part of the family even though she has only been working for them for eight months.

San Pedro said she was a factory worker in the Philippines before going to work in Saudi Arabia to save enough money to build a house for her family back home. Her family was also deep in debt as her youngest daughter was born with a pulmonary disease and needed frequent visits to the hospital, The Filipino Times reported.

San Pedro said that even though she has only been working for her current employers for eight months, they have given her many luxury items such as handbags and shoes in gratitude for her service to their family.

Aside from the gifts, San Pedro said her employers’ family helped pay for her daughter’s medical expenses when she was taken to the hospital. She was also given around 500,000 pesos (US$9,400) by her female employer toward the construction of her house in the Philippines.

According to San Pedro, these people are living examples of good employers. She said she strives to give her best to them and their family to show her gratitude.
