A Filipino maid was arrested and charged with criminal intimidation in Sha Tin in the New Territories on Thursday night after allegedly pulling a knife on a c0-worker.

Shortly after 7pm on Thursday, the 47-year-old domestic worker and her 46-year-old female co-worker had a dispute over a trivial matter while both were working for a family in Hin Kwai Lane in Tai Wai, the Oriental Daily reported.

The woman allegedly took a knife and threatened her co-worker, prompting the co-worker to call police.

Officers arrived at the scene and after an initial investigation arrested the woman and charged her with criminal intimidation. The crime investigation team from the Sha Tin police is following up the case.

Under Hong Kong law, if found guilty the woman faces a fine of HK$2,000 (US$254) and imprisonment for two to five years.
