The much-awaited book by Reham Khan is finally out and it has already become one of Amazon’s top sellers. The reason for its good sales figures is Imran Khan, as many of the pages in the book talk about his drug use and difficult marital relations.
The book became controversial before its launch as Imran Khan’s political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, accused his ex-wife Reham Khan of being used by the rival Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) in a bid to undermine the former cricket player’s political popularity.
Many PTI followers and supporters still believe that this book contains no substantial truth and that Reham Khan is trying to depict her ex-husband as a drug addict driven by lust for sex and power. For them, it is an effort to steal the conservative and religious vote bank from Imran Khan. However, a read of the book shows that this is not the case.
Reham Khan’s eponymously titled book starts with her early life and her first marriage. She eloquently explains the torment, both emotional and physical, inflicted on her by her first husband. It is actually brave of her to talk about what many women go through, and simply accept the violence inflicted by their husbands and in-laws just to survive the marriage somehow.
The book actually provides good revelations about how Reham thinks of the world and gives a glimpse of how many mountains you have to move as a woman in Pakistani society to live a life of your own choice.
The controversial part of the book starts when Imran Khan is being discussed. His entry into Reham’s life is quite dramatic. A man dejected with the failure to topple the government through agitation finds refuge in a women who is also broken from inside but somehow manages not to show it to the world. The marriage of Reham and Imran Khan was not announced publicly, as he was pretending to be making a new Pakistan through agitation in those days.
Regarding Imran Khan’s playboy lifestyle, there are no doubts, as he is famous for flirting with the women. From Indian actress Zeenat Aman to Sita White, we have seen and read it all.
Reham also discusses Imran’s daughter, Tyrian White, and of course we all know that she is Imran’s daughter living with his ex-wife Jemima. Certainly, what Imran does is a personal matter, and if he sniffs cocaine or has a playboy lifestyle it is none of anybody’s business in a normal routine. But when you use religion as a tool, and you claim that you are a saint and all your opponents are ethically and morally corrupt, then it does not remain a personal matter.
Since the book highlights the weak points of the blue-eyed boy of the establishment and the darling of the media, it has not won the attention of the media that it deserves in Pakistan. The same sort of book written by Tehmina Durrani, the ex-wife of Ghulam Mustafa Khar, My Feudal Lord, was given extensive coverage at the time of its release a few decades ago because that book suited the larger interests of the power chessboard players.
Coming back to Reham’s book, it is not all about Imran Khan; it is about a woman who has the courage to pen the events of her life without any hesitation and without fearing the consequences. She may be disliked by the blind followers of PTI, but for regular readers, this book has a lot to offer. Of course, it is not a classic like George Orwell’s Animal Farm or Fyodor Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment, but once you start reading it you cannot resist the urge to finish it as soon as possible.
Reham should be given credit for expressing the cruelest moments and events of her life in such a delicate manner that one almost shares the intense feelings of the characters of the story. After all, we all have dark sides that we hide from the world.
From a critical point of view, Reham could have avoided discussing Imran Khan’s lust for pleasure activities, but then it is up to the writer what she wants to express.
The book is highly recommended to critical thinkers and especially those women who have to suffer the violence of men in a male-dominated society.
PTI lovers, however, are advised not to read the book, as it will disappoint them badly. And for male chauvinists, it is simply not digestible.
All in all, 4 out of 5 for what Reham Khan has produced.
….and the story of so called courageous woman came into limelight just before the elections??…Timing is quite interesting…isnt it?
Masses are not fool, they have rejected such pile of a shit…Reham lost her dignity and respect
Before Reham tied the knot with Imran, she must have been well aware of the traits of the great Cricket Khan. A relation is never a guarnteed afair to sustain as it primarily depends upon the psychological structure of two human minds. That has failed in the relation between Imran Khan and Reham! Reham became revengeful and she tried to teach a lesson to Khan. The design is certain to fail.
Imad you should have a similar wife since you adore Reham khan’s courage.

Instead of hyperventilating, you need to take a reality check!
The above list was produced by an international research survey, based on raw data…not on opinions! And, anecdoctal evidence also backs up the above.
Well Imad Zafar, you so marvelously have proved that you are no more than a dick head! How would you feel if you had an ex-wife who, after your divorce, would write down for the world, all the bitter conversations and incidents that ever happened between you two! What happens between a husband and a wife is a highly personal matter. Even after they split up, they should show respect for each other like Imran Khan and Jemima Goldsmith still do! The truth is that it is no more than a highly derogatory thing that Reham Khan did by writing this book and if you are praising her for this you should go see a psychiatrist! And good luck with that!
It seems, contents of the book are mixture of personal vendetta and politcal influences ! Timing of its publication, just before elections, too is critical and suspense.

Who said India is the rape "capital" of the world? India is far down the list of rape statistics if you do a comparison with the rest of the world! Here are the facts from the top 10 worst countries for rape:
10. Belgium
9. Panama
8. Saint Kitts and Nevis
7. Australia
6. Grenada
5. Nicaragua
4. Sweden
3. Lesotho
2. Botswana
1. South Africa
S Africa is the worst! Indian media have been reporting rape incidents more prominently in recent years as the subject has become a hot topic. Kudos to them!
You are really a stupid guy. you are talking about book. you don’t have right to tell any thing all ready proven. you are saying about Imran ‘s daughter.there is no DNA prove.
so don’t force us your thoughts.

This is something not specific to Pakistan only, but South Asian in general.
I always wondered why India is the rape capital of the world???
How come ALL of the 23 reviews on Amazon where the book sells are NEGATIVE???
It looks like the brother of Reham khan "Imad Zafar" just have to offer just one side of the story , so if you think it is a very courageous attempt then please read it down along with your family , It is just a porn comic written by a psyco woman ….
Reham has lost her respect and dignity through her book
Normally, it is in the West where women tell bedroom stories of their ex-husbands to embarrass them in public. No respected Muslim woman has done it before, even Jemima did not do such thing who is a western educated woman.
Her book’s main purpose was to undermine Imran Khan and his PTI in coming elections. This is why book is released just before election. As it is, it will have no affect at the election at all. In fact, Reham has given more boost to Imran’s popularity. On the other side, her political supporters in Pakistan are ending up in jails whom she calls them to be ‘good’ people.
Finally, can you imagine Reham reading this book to her children as bedtime stories.
Mr Abbas,
Your refreshing honesty about Pakistanis’ "Sex-starvation and obssession…and predilection for pedophilia, rape and [animal sex]…is something I knew for a long time…and I have seen much evidence for this!
Here, in the UK, 85% of all sexual grooming of young pubescent girls were perpetrated by Pakistani men! All are now in jail after a huge outcry, which if the UK authorities had not intervened and sought justice, English men would have wreaked bloody vengeance on those Pakistanis!
In Pakistan, married men from places like Lahore seek out young boys for sex since they cannot find females for the same as Pakistan is a sexually repressed society. Ditto most Muslim countries.
Islam has clearly failed to put Muslims on the straight and narrow…and the rigidly conservative mindsets that inform much of the Muslim world is one of the root causes of its moral degeneration and sheer hypocrisy. Democratic and free societies are way superior than any Islamic state!
BTW, Imran ‘dimwit’ Khan had never struck me as a pious and moral man. His hyprocrisy is breathtaking. The man is delusional and has no understanding of IRONY! Yet he gores on bleating about Islamic piety and morality (an oxymoron if ever there was one)…in Pakistan of all places!
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
Despite the misleading title, Reham Khan’s venomous vendetta is not her story, but that of Imran Khan, nay of Pakistan itself. Much of what she writes is truth, already well known though not discussed much.
Sex-starvation and obssession, pedophilia, rape. When I left Pakistan in 1968 at 20 I could see a pattern – sexual starvation of locals but perversion in English Medium schools (of which I endured 2-1/2 years); sexual expoloits of my colleagues – how they raped each other and their cousins of either sex, Mullah sex jokes, et al. The West I landed in by comparison (with all its porn and nudity) was a prudish place then.
Reham wants us shocked because, despite her own premiscuous lifestyle (all available on Internet) she is – she was not born and raised in Pakistan. This book is for Western audience as no one has yet batted an eye in Pakistan, they know it all. Nothing new. Rather than the intended result that RH wants she may in fact give IK’s campaign a shot in the arm, just like the tame Monika Lewinsky – Clinton affair rose his popularity as the common man identified with him. In many ways Pakistan and US are two faces of the same coin.
What I resent is her involving her innocent son in this sordid affair. Islam advises us not to wash our dirty linen in public, hide others’ shortcomings, not to accuse others openly but advise them privately to cease and desist evil. That she almost never did that to IK reflects poorly on her her than IK.
What does it tell about a people who want a pedophile sportmen to lead them? What else do you expect from a people who have morphed their learned Prophet, A Blessing to Mankind, into an illiterate pedophile who knew not to read or write and bed a 9 year old? Lament for a people.
