Police arrested a 38-year-old man for alleged assault occasioning actual bodily harm after he had a fight with another man on a busy road in Kowloon’s Mong Kok more than two weeks ago.
A 19-second video was uploaded to Facebook on Thursday, a week after the incident happened, showing the man who was arrested and a 33-year-old man fighting on Soy Street in Mong Kok, Apple Daily reported.
At the start of the video, which viewers online described as “MMA on the street,” a man wearing a white T-shirt and glasses was seen slapping the other man before the fight broke out. One man used an umbrella, making him lose his balance.
The other man then grabbed his legs and slammed him backwards on the ground before punching him in the face five times. The video also showed the man under arrest stomping on the other’s chest as he lay stunned on the road.
Police confirmed the fight happened at noon on July 5 after the two men argued over a crash caused by a trolley cart. One man suffered head injuries and was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital but was conscious, the Oriental Daily reported.
