An Indonesian domestic worker appeared in Tuen Muen Magistrates’ Court on Monday, accused of adding urine to a water bottle served to her employer.

Defendant Septiana Rahayu, aged 24, was charged with one count of administering poison or some other destructive or noxious thing with intent to injure, Apple Daily reported.

However the prosecutor told the court that after laboratory testing, no urine was found in the water mixture, adding that the prosecution needed time to conduct further testing to determine whether there were any other noxious substances in the water.

The defendant was arrested by police on May 26 in an apartment at Palm Cove Tower in Tuen Mun after her female employer took a sip from a bottle of water and suspected urine had been added to the bottle.

The defendant admitted under police caution that she had added urine to the water bottle.

The defendant was remanded pending a July 17 bail application and the case was adjourned until August 20.
