A Filipino domestic worker in Hong Kong who was diagnosed with cancer has been receiving medical treatment with the help of her employers. The maid named Bella, who works in the New Territories, was recently told she had stage three cancer.
Bella feared she would be sent back to the Philippines once her employers were informed about her illness, sunwebhk.com reported.
But instead, her employers booked her into a private hospital to receive chemotherapy. She said her employers even wanted to take her to the United States for treatment as one of their relatives was a doctor there.
Bella said she is now hopeful of making a full recovery because of the support she has received in Hong Kong.
