Chinese drone-maker DJI Technology, which has successfully created a market for consumer unmanned aerial vehicles, is rapidly approaching the ceiling of its potential business, Yicai.com reported.

While a recent report shows that the consumer drone market is about to be saturated, Wang Tao, the founder of DJI, has said in an interview that the company’s income ceiling is about 20 billion yuan (US$3 billion).

Thus, the company needs to find a new breakthrough, such as a market for professional applications in different industries.

A report by iResearch pointed out that the market scale of China’s UAVs is expected to reach 75 billion yuan in 2025, among which the consumer drone market will contribute 30 billion yuan.

The remaining 45 billion yuan will come from its application in professional fields.
