Singapore Civil Defense Force officers rescued a barefoot 30-year-old Filipino woman from the roof of an overhead bridge in Yishun on Thursday afternoon and later charged her with attempted suicide.

The woman was seen walking barefoot on the roof of the overhead bridge and members of the public alerted authorities, the Shin Min Daily News reported.

The newspaper said the woman was a domestic worker whose employer lived in Novena. Witnesses said the woman did not shout once she climbed onto the roof, but was muttering to herself.

After stumbling along the roof, she was prevented from jumping off the bridge by five officers from Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), according to a video from ROADS.sg.

After being taken down she was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for a check-up and later arrested for allegedly attempting suicide. A police investigation is ongoing.
