An apparent case of road rage resulted in two men being arrested for allegedly fighting in Tsuen Wan, the New Territories on Thursday night.

At 10pm, a 28-year-old man surnamed Ma, who was driving a light goods vehicle, slowed down on Chun On Street due to traffic conditions. This caused a 52-year-old man surnamed Cheng, who was behind Ma in a private car, to honk his horn repeatedly.

Ma reacted by coming to a stop in the slow lane and getting out to argue with Cheng.

According to a video uploaded on social media, the two men first engaged in a verbal dispute, during which Cheng was seen repeatedly yelling and pointing at the younger man.

Pushes were exchanged, after which the two started battling on the road.

Friends of both men tried unsuccessfully to stop the fight. A passer-by then stepped in and separated the two men.

Ma was found to have injuries to his forehead, shoulders, hands and legs while Cheng suffered facial injuries. They were sent to Yan Chai Hospital for treatment.

Police later arrested both men for allegedly fighting in public.
