Two Filipinos were killed and three others injured in a road accident in Saudi Arabia last Thursday.
Consul General Edgar Badajos said five Filipinos were on their way to a grocery store when their vehicle was hit by a van in Jizan in the western region of Saudi Arabia, GMA News reported.
Badajos said they were on their way to buy food to prepare of Eid al-Fitr, the Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan. He said one of the victims died on the spot while the other died in a hospital.
Three people were injured and were taken to hospital for treatment. Badajos said the driver of the van was a Saudi national.
Badajos said the families of the victims will be given assistance and an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
