Police are searching for a 35-year-old domestic worker who allegedly added baby powder to a Hong Kong couple’s bottle of yam powder, a substance believed to be good for people’s health.
The maid had worked for a couple in an apartment in Kennedy Town on Hong Kong Island. At 8pm on Tuesday, a 36-year-old man reported the case to police, saying his wife suspected their former domestic worker of putting baby powder in a bottle of edible yam powder, news website HK01.com reported.
The couple live in an upscale apartment at University Heights on 23 Pokfield Road. The man’s wife had bought a can of yam powder for health purposes, but when she consumed the powder, she suspected baby powder had been added because the powder had an unusual smell.
After an initial investigation, police classed the case as “administering poison with intent to injure” and officers from the crime investigation team at Western Police Station are following up the case. No one has been arrested so far.
The police report did not disclose the nationality of the maid or the reason she no longer worked for the family.
On May 28, a 24-year-old Indonesian maid was arrested after allegedly mixing urine with water and serving it to her female employer in an apartment in the New Territories’ Tuen Mun.

if its not pilipino or indonesian …chinese they never mentioned it in their news
Love begets love.
milk is just poped up in my mind and I’d type it so quick, anyway whatever mistake or trouble brings to you I apologised but Im sticking to the issue here that they only suspected the maid but not proven but they have the guts to report without serving evidence ,ruining reputation thats all they want I guess
Edward Antonio Lacayanga whatever it is my point chinese dont use baby powder at all and we helpers dont waste money for that kind of shit or put our job in stake ,unless tjey are not treaten their helpers nicely so she have the guts to do so
hello…did you read completely the write ups?……it says only baby powder meaning not a milk understood?
???? Ridiculous, childish, retaliatory, revengeful behaviour.
no Nationality why? dahil di na nagtratrabaho sa kanila? bakit pag Pilipino or Indonisia ilalagay talaga nila ang nationality. just asking.
Wala po kanalagay ang nakalagay last year Indonesian last year lang ngayon walang nationality nakalagay ginawa tayong manghuhula
does the helper really did it.or just another fabricated story from a bad employer to screw up the helper.the baby’s tummy.is too sensitive, that when they drink something dirty or.poisonous they stomach will.react.immediately.baby will suffer.from diarrhea, vomiting and other reaction of the body due.to food poisoning..so.if the.baby.have been.drinking milk with.added baby powder or.poison stuff did the.bay get sick or not..if.not,then the.employer is trying to.screw.up their.helper..
How can they be sure that the helper put that baby powder into the can of yam powder? What if the employer is the one who put it then blame to the helper?
the news said, "baby powder" not a "baby milk powder" these two are totally different.
Why blame the helper not questioning that company of the product?.
And do your have a baby power milk at home nor a baby who’s using a power milk?
Tiu kau wong chung kwai… They can’tive without helpers but they also can’t stop being sifat kwai all the time.
HOPE HK GOVERMENT LEARN ABOUT THE FEELING OF WORKING 14 TO 16 HRS AND ONLY HAVE PAID 137+ HKD EVERDAY…
You’re right kabayan, who the stupid person would waste money but it didn’t mention "baby milk powder".It’s baby powder as in like JOHNSON’S BABY POWDER.It’s hazardous if taken but as some other people commented,,it’s just like saying don’t do unto others what you dont like others do to you.Bka maldita amo kaya naging maldita ang katulong.
enough for their shit, hello baby milk powder is expensive ,if Im the helper there is no way for me to waste my money Lol!
Yeah…why they didn’t mention the nationality of the domestic helper.for sure that’s not a Filipino
