Police arrested two men for allegedly indecently assaulting three girls in Tin Shui Wai in the New Territories on Wednesday.
One of the suspects was a 32-year-old man surnamed Yu, said to be a serving police officer working with the Narcotics Bureau. He was arrested for alleged indecent assault and indecency with children under 16, Sing Pao reported.
Another man, a 28-year-old surnamed Wong, was arrested for alleged indecent assault.
The case came to light when a parent of one of the girls made a police report stating that she suspected her daughter was being molested.
During investigations, police officers found that the three girls, all of them students with one of them under 16 years old, were involved in compensated dating, Sing Tao Daily reported.
The girls got to know the two suspects through the Instagram social media platform and met the suspects in Tin Shui Wai on separate occasions.
The two suspects were released on bail with conditions set for them to make reports to a police station.
The case is being followed up by the Crime Squad of the New Territories North Regional Police Headquarters.
