Hong Kong police were looking for a trio of thugs who allegedly harassed two women on a minibus and robbed one of them of her handbag in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Oriental Daily News reported that the men also roughed up an indignant male colleague of the two women, who yelled at them to stop pestering the women.

Reportedly the three victims of the harassment worked together at a restaurant. When they got off work they boarded a Mong Kok-bound minibus near Lan Kwai Fong in Central at around 3am.

The man blasted the three bullies’ behavior and asked the two women to get off the bus with him at an intermediate stop in Kowloon.

But he was chased by the three men, who beat him up until passers-by called the police. By the time police arrived, the three thugs had fled the scene.

The man sustained minor injuries to his forehead, ears and arms and was sent to a hospital.

One of the two women was robbed of her bag when she rushed to the defense of her colleague.

Video clips posted online showed that while other passengers called the police to report the attack, some urged the minibus driver just to continue the journey.

Police said they were looking for three men suspected of robbery and indecent assault.
