An overseas Filipino worker was shot dead and three others were wounded during a shooting at a wedding party in Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur, in the Philippines on Sunday.

On Sunday evening, Florante Tabuso, 36, arrived at the wedding party, followed by his cousin Jun Christopher Briones, a police officer, the Philippine Star reported.

Briones offered to shake hands with Tabuso, but Tabuso refused. According to Robert Valiente, the town police chief, the two reportedly had a long standing grudge. Tabuso searched Briones’ waist.

Briones drew a .45 pistol from his waist as a fight broke out between the two. He fired the gun during the fight, killing Tabuso and wounding three others, all Tabuso’s relatives. They include Palmie Susa, 36, Liezel Agcamaran, 33, and Joshua Rubang, 10. Briones fled the area after the incident.

Police recovered seven bullet shells and investigations are ongoing.
