A Filipino woman is facing fraud charges for lying to her Swedish boyfriend  about her marital status in order to buy property with him in the Philippines.

The woman, who called herself “Lovely Anne Enad” on Facebook, is being charged with fraud and falsification of public documents for lying about being single in order to buy property worth 2.5 million pesos (US$47,570) in Lapu-Lapu City, Philippine Lifestyle News reported.

The Swedish man named Hans Goran Gunneriusson said he provided the money to Enad while she acted as the buyer when they purchased the property. The pair were in a romantic relationship when they made the purchase.

Enad allegedly put her marital status as single in the contract to sell and deed of absolute sale for the property. However, Gunneriusson learned on Facebook that she was married to Felomino Enad, a Bahrain-based chef.

The current marital status of the defendant listed on Facebook is single.

Gunneriusson said if he had known Enad was married, he would not have even dated her, let alone going so far as to buy property with her.

Enad is currently out on a 16,000 pesos’ bail while the case is pending before the court.
