A man who threw a hot iron at his Filipino girlfriend and then kicked and punched her was sentenced to three weeks in jail by a Singapore court this week.
The 34-year-old man lost his temper during an argument over the S$300 (US$224) he gave the single mother every month to support her and threw the hot iron at the 43-year-old Filipino in November last year. He them kicked and punched her, leaving her with a one-centimeter-long cut to her right leg and bruises.
The incident happened at their home on the eighth floor of Block 337 on Jurong East Avenue 1, the Shin Min Daily News reported. After the violent outburst the man continued doing domestic chores while the woman went to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital alone for treatment.
In court the man pleaded for leniency, saying he had credit card debts and had to work two jobs to make ends meet – he was a safety officer in the day and a part-time courier at night.
He said his girlfriend had already forgiven him and he promised the judge he would not use violence against her again.

The news did not mention the nationality of the guy only the girl who is filipina..maybe he is local i think so..but pls next time if they will release the news it should be precise and the statement is complete.. just my opinion..
