A Filipino returning home to the Philippines from working in Saudi Arabia was shot dead by his wife’s lover. On May 19, Danilo Henson, 57, a Riyadh aircraft maintenance worker, was killed when he arrived outside his home in Lipa City, Batangas, Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.
Henson had just returned to the Philippines with his wife Janet Capalad, who is employed as a nurse in Saudi Arabia.
Rhoderick Tonga, Lipa City police chief, said the gunman was identified as Roel Guico, a friend of the couple who also works in Saudi Arabia. Tonga said Capalad and Guico were having an affair and plotted the murder of Henson.
According to the police, Guico works as a company driver in Riyadh. He reportedly returned to the Philippines a week before Henson and his wife arrived.
“When we confronted them, Guico admitted to the affair while Capalad claimed it was only Guico who planned the murder,” Tonga said.
Guico and Capalad were arrested and charged with murder.
