PBTS, a subsidiary of CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Co. Ltd., a Chinese railway rolling stock manufacturer, has officially obtained the contract to provide vehicles for Thailand’s two monorail projects — the Yellow Line and Pink Line in Bangkok, The Paper reported.

The company, Puzhen Bombardier Transportation Systems Co. Ltd., has become the first domestic firm to export driverless straddle monorail trains.

Founded in 2014, PBTS is a joint venture of CRRC Nanjing Puzhen and Bombardier Transportation, one of the world’s largest rail vehicle and equipment manufacturers.

It is the first professional company specializing in the design, production, integration and sales of monorail and APM rail transit vehicles and systems in China.

It has successfully supported the APM projects in the airports of Hong Kong and Shenzhen, as well as the straddle monorail project in Wuhu city, Anhui province.

In March 2018, the first domestic APM driverless line in Shanghai using PBTS’s vehicles was officially opened for trial operation.
