A 40-year-old man was arrested by judiciary police in Macau on Tuesday for allegedly attacking a boy and a domestic worker in a park.

The man surnamed Li, a visitor from Henan province on the mainland, traveled to Macau with his wife and a daughter, the Macau Daily News reported.

At around 2pm Li’s daughter was hit by a boy when the kids were playing in Jardim da Cidade das Flores, or Flower City Park, in Taipa.

Li was furious and kicked the boy, then hit the domestic worker when she tried to protect the youngster.

According a video that has surfaced on social media, some people – assumed to be parents who took their kids to the park – stopped Li from further assaults.

The clip had people saying, “Call the police” and “Don’t let him leave the park”.

Li then got agitated and slapped a man standing near him, but ended up being pinned to the ground by two men.

Police arrived and handcuffed Li before taking him to a police station.

Li told police he was very angry when he saw his daughter crying after she was hit by the boy. So, he smacked the boy’s bottom a few times.

He also admitted that he hit the boy’s domestic worker, they said.

Both the boy and the domestic worker were sent to hospital for medical checkups and discharged later.

The boy’s mother and the domestic worker did not want to take the matter further, so police said Li was not prosecuted.
