Tencent and China Resources Group have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly work on the areas of smart cities and real estate management, medical and health, cloud computing and big data, as well as smart retail, Yicai.com reported.
As for smart retail, Tencent will help to equip China Resources’s hypermarkets with technologies such as internet tools, big data and cloud platforms.
The two parties will focus on combining China Resources’s consuming scenarios based on its supermarkets, coffee shops and real estate projects, with Tencent’s social media traffic, so as to complete each other with the advantages of online and offline.
Both parties also stated that they will consider combining Tencent’s cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and blockchain with related businesses of the China Resources Group.
