Police suspect animal cruelty and are investigating after a dog fell to its death from a rooftop in Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island on Wednesday evening.
At around 8pm, a driver was sitting in a seven-seater vehicle parked on Lockhart Road in Wan Chai when a dog crashed through the sunroof of the car, Oriental Daily reported. The driver was unhurt.
Police were called and informed officers from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Police later found the owner of the dog, who lived on the 13th floor of the building. The woman told police she had three other dogs and they all slept on pallets on the rooftop.
Police also found the dog’s pallet on the street and suspect foul play.
Earlier this month, a 23-year-old man was arrested for animal cruelty over the death of a Japanese spitz that was allegedly thrown from a building in Kowloon’s Sham Shui Po.
