Police are looking for two South Asian men who followed two male tourists from England and attacked one of them in Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island in the early hours of Thursday.
At 3am, when the two British tourists came out of a taxi at their hotel at 387 Queen’s Road East, two South Asian men also got out of a car which followed the taxi, the Oriental Daily reported.
The South Asian men were each holding a hammer and a pair of scissors and attacked one of the tourists, a 35-year-old British man, before getting into their car and escaping.
The British tourist suffered an injury to his head and was sent to a hospital for treatment. After an initial investigation, police believe the men followed the two tourists and attacked them in revenge for an argument the two groups had earlier in a pub in Wan Chai.
Police are investigating surveillance camera footage and are hunting for the two men and the private car they were in.
