A 19-year-old Pakistani man has been accused of groping a Filipina accountant while she was asleep on a sofa in a residential building in Dubai.
The Filipina, 38, was waiting for her friend who lives in the building. She fell asleep on a sofa in the lobby for about 10 minutes and woke when someone started caressing her thighs, Gulf News reported.
The unemployed Pakistani man touched her thighs and stomach before the Filipina pushed his hand away and scolded him. The man then ran away and the woman reported the incident to police.
Police arrested the man in the Al Qusais area and he was charged with groping the woman. On Wednesday at the Dubai Court of First Instance, the man pleaded guilty to the charge. A ruling will be heard on May 13.
