A Filipino domestic worker in Kuwait has pleaded for help on social media after her employer allegedly abused her. On Thursday a Facebook post by Menchie Pilapil Romero showed she had cuts and bruises on her arms, face and body. In a video, Romero pleads for help, saying she was scared her female employer may kill her.

According to the post, Romero tried seeking help from her employment agency but failed. She said she had not received any news from her agency and tried seeking help elsewhere.

Romero said she was seeking help from the Philippine embassy in Kuwait and asked to be rescued as soon as possible.

According to an interview with Hans Cacdac, an administrator of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, the organization had been informed of Romero’s case and were taking action to rescue her.
