A 27-year-old Filipina riding a bicycle home after a day’s work was severely injured in a hit-and-run on Serangoon Road in Singapore on Tuesday night.
The woman, who works as an interior designer in a Singapore studio, suffered severe injuries and risks being left a paraplegic, according to medical staff treating her.
On March 27, the woman rented a bicycle after getting off a train at the Boon Keng MRT Station, Lianhe Zaobao (Singapore) reported. At 8:35pm while riding along Serangoon Road towards MacPherson Road, a white sedan struck her from behind, knocking her off her bike and into a tree, according to a witness. The witness also identified the vehicle was a white Mini Cooper.
The badly injured woman was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and her friends have appealed for witnesses to come forward or dashboard camera footage that captured the incident to be handed over to police.
