Thirteen people aged between 24 and 43 were arrested after police raided an apartment allegedly being used for drug-taking and gambling in Kowloon’s Yau Ma Tei district on Saturday night.
Officers from the Kowloon West crime squad arrived at the apartment on 66A Parkes Street at 11pm, Oriental Daily reported.
They confiscated two beef knives, two fishing game machines, one other game machine, a trace amount of suspected methamphetamines and two suspected tools for taking methamphetamines.
A 40-year-old Yau Ma Tei man was arrested for allegedly operating a drug den, selling illicit substances, possession of weapons, possession of drugs and possession of tools for using drugs.
Eleven men, including six South Asians, and a pregnant woman were also arrested for allegedly possessing weapons, drugs and tools for taking drugs and for illegal gambling.
Police are investigating whether there was any triad involvement in the operation of the alleged drug and gambling den.
