A 51-year-old woman was taken to hospital after being shot by a teenager with a BB gun in Yuen Long in the New Territories on Monday.

At 4pm the woman was waiting to cross Ma Miu Road in Yuen Long’s Shui Pin Wai Estate when a teenager riding a bike and carrying a BB gun approached her and fired three shots at her, the Apple Daily reported.

She felt pain in her right ear after the third shot but the teenager rode off immediately after the shooting. The woman described him as a teenager of South Asian origin.

She called police and was sent to a hospital where a doctor removed an airgun pellet from her right ear. Police searched the area but could not find the suspect. They classed the case as assault occasioning actual bodily harm and are hunting for the teenager.
