A married woman from the Philippines won this year’s Mrs. Asia Pacific beauty pageant in Malaysia on March 24 and picked up a number of other awards along the way.

Miztie Go Gil, 40, was crowned Mrs. Asia Pacific Tourism 2018 and won other special categories such as Special Queen Ambassador, Mrs. Glamour, Mrs. Smile and Mrs. Queen People’s Choice, the Manila Bulletin reported.

Gil said she wanted to encourage other married woman to join the pageant that advocates women’s empowerment. “It is always an honor to represent the country and win for the Philippines in a pageant abroad. If I can do it, so can you,” Gil said.

Another Filipino delegate, 24-year-old Eurresse Czeurisse Limpangog Talisic-Misola, won the Mrs. Asia Pacific All Nation 2018, Best National Costume and Mrs. Encouraging Woman categories.

The two Filipinas competed against 22 other delegates from Asia. Other winners in the pageant were Mrs. Asia Pacific Global Ulyana Kofanova from Russia, Mrs. Asia Pacific Intercontinental Urooj Aashaish Khan from India and Mrs. Asia Pacific Cosmopolitan Dr. Elisse Lim from Malaysia.
