Today’s crypto-sphere is full of chatter about Google restricting, suspending or even terminating Adword accounts that have associations with crypto-currencies.

Some say this is happening because crypto investing is considered so high risk that it violates Google’s own financial services regulations while others think the social media giant has been put under pressure by North American regulators. One line of rumor claims it is because of concerted pressure by the FBI, who are increasingly concerned about the growing number of crypto-investment fraud cases.

In January of this year, Facebook banned crypto-currency adverts because of “misleading or deceptive promotional practices.” Google, says some of the chatter, will follow suit later this month.
