Philippine authorities, working in tandem with their Norwegian counterparts, have arrested a man in Malolos City on child pornography charges. The arrest followed an investigation in which a Norwegian citizen was arrested for purchasing child sex videos from the Philippines.

In January, the National Criminal Investigation Service (NCIS) in Norway alerted Philippine authorities that a Filipino man was producing and selling child pornography to foreigners, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reports.

The NCIS arrested Norwegian citizen Ketil Andersen for purchasing child pornography made in the Philippines. The NCIS then told Philippine authorities that they had discovered Andersen was in communication with a Filipino man, via Skype, and that the latter live-streamed webcam shows of a sexual nature featuring minors.

On March 8, the NCIS and the Philippine National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) launched a raid and arrested the suspect – Anselmo Ico Jr. – in Malolos City. Five minors were also rescued during the raid.

NBI Director Dante Gierran said Ico has been charged with violating the Expanded Anti-Human Trafficking of Persons Act of 2012, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act of 1992 and the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009.
