A Filipina domestic worker who claims to have been abused by her employer in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, says she was not given help by her employment agency.
On Sunday, a Facebook post written by Mary Jane J. Nuada went viral. In it, she pleaded to be rescued from employers who she says have physically abused her.
Nuada said her employers kick and throw things at her. Photos show her with bruises on her arms and legs.
Nuada added that she had sought help from her employment agency, the Fawaris Alaamal Recruitment Office, but that it had not helped her.
She said the agency did not believe her complaint and asked her to prove that she was being abused. The agency also told her that she would have to pay her employer PHP25,000 (US$480) to be allowed to leave.
My name is Wayne Miller I live in Texas and have a friend (former employee) that was sent to Saudi after applying for a job with the Rahlah Solis agency of Manila. She was then sent to Lebonon to work there. All of her possesions were taken including her passport and she is forced to work 22+ hours a day with little food and her quarters is a comfort room in the madams house. She is only allowed to text her 2 small children once in a while, to keep them thinking their mother is ok. I have asked for a copy of her contract from both Manila agency and the agent in Beirut with no response. This in my opinion is a human trafficking and slavery issue. They told her if I paid 9000 dollars she could leave. They have not paid her yet and told her because she had to pay the agency for the job. I have been sending her kids food money and doctor bills (Dengue) and the only reply I got was to mind my own business. This is Philipinos sending their countrymen into slavery. I would appreicate any advice or help getting her back to her kids
