An eight-year-old Filipina has competed against 20 contestants twice her age in an international figure skating tournament in the United Kingdom.
Ayasofya Vittoria Aguirre was the youngest competitor at the Milton Keynes International Skating Union Figure Ice Skating Tournament on March 7, the Manila Bulletin reported.
Aguirre was the only non-UK resident in the competition and finished in 11th place with a score of 15.88 technical points. The winner, Amy Ilsey, 17, had a score of 19.62 points.
Aguirre previously competed at the 29th Annual Skate Japan tournament last year and won three gold medals and one silver medal. She was also voted as the best overall in artistic performance.
She will be competing in two competitions, one in June in China and the other in October in Hong Kong.
