An abused Filipino domestic worker was rescued on Friday by Philippine government officials from her employer – a police officer in Kuwait.

Bretchie Lyn Magsayo, who has worked in Kuwait for one year, pleaded for help via a Facebook post, saying she was being abused by her employer, The Filipino Times reported.

In the video, Magsayo showed the injuries she allegedly sustained from the abuse of her employer. There were bruises and burns on her arms and her back.

She urged the government to help her and provided her employer’s address.

On Saturday afternoon, officials from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and Kuwaiti labor people were able to locate her and rescue her.

Magsayo was brought to the Philippine Embassy.

According to the Kuwait Times, the Philippine Embassy will take legal action against Magsayo’s employer. The employer went to the embassy to ask Magsayo to drop the charges, but he failed.
