An abused Filipino domestic worker was rescued on Friday by Philippine government officials from her employer – a police officer in Kuwait.
Bretchie Lyn Magsayo, who has worked in Kuwait for one year, pleaded for help via a Facebook post, saying she was being abused by her employer, The Filipino Times reported.
In the video, Magsayo showed the injuries she allegedly sustained from the abuse of her employer. There were bruises and burns on her arms and her back.
She urged the government to help her and provided her employer’s address.
On Saturday afternoon, officials from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and Kuwaiti labor people were able to locate her and rescue her.
Magsayo was brought to the Philippine Embassy.
According to the Kuwait Times, the Philippine Embassy will take legal action against Magsayo’s employer. The employer went to the embassy to ask Magsayo to drop the charges, but he failed.
Please change your statement on how long she had been working in Kuwait. The truth of the matter is that, she is a first time OFW, and she had only arrived in Kuwait a day before the ban of President Duterte for first time workers for Kuwait. So she had only been with her employer for more than a month…
Even though she work only for one the fact is she wàs abused or maltreated by her bastard employer. Right?
Even its officially agreed by two countries still some employeer never follow that like mine they saw but they are blind they can hear but they are deaf
Why work for these Muslim Bastard anyway…poverty is no excuse
The point is she was abused. Even for 1 minute. The real issue there is not the year. Abused abused abused!
Nakuha lang den nila ang report sa Asia times
It was not meant that the time span mattered… I just wanted it corrected…
E ano kung sa Kuwait times galing.
Nakita kona siya.
Nong time na nanghingi siya nang tulong sa kapwa ko ofw.
Ang pagkakaalam ko po ay one month palang po siya dito.
Nag kima po kasi amo niya.
Tas nasa palaruan kami.
That’s why we urge the gov’t to stop the deployment of domestic helpers in kwt.
Let the police officer be charged according to the law..nothing like dropping charges for abuse of a worker.workers have their rights too
Hahaha time for vengiance of Domestic helpers.Though you will deny if she is new or long stayed helper the evidence is at the records in the ofc of the agency.
Imbistigahang mabuti yan dahil karamihan binibinta nila ang mga katulong anak ko mismo mabuti na lang employer ko mismong bumili 20k riyal
Hope our gobernment will continue the ban kahit my bago clang prosesso .ban for domestic helpers skilled workers fine.but some even companies not giving good salaries I am in private sector they our salary is same with dh.they must increase coz we pay rooms food and everything
As what you have said she had been work to her emloyer for less than a month. So what? You just want to emphasize that her complain is irrelevant, don’t you? How could anyone imagine that in a very short period of time she suffered a lot from her sadistic employer.
It doesn’t matter whether she works there for a period or 1 month or 1 year. What matters most is that she was abused by no less than a kuwaiti police officer. It goes to show how war freak & brutal you are middle eastern people.
