Temperatures plunged to one degree Celsius in various districts of Hong Kong’s New Territories, including Fanling and Sheung Shui, on Tuesday morning.

At 7am, as the urban area temperature dropped to 8 degrees Celsius, the northern part of the New Territories recorded only one degree Celsius, news website HK01.com reports.

Many netizens living in Hong Kong’s northern districts uploaded photos in which frost was visible on the windshields and roofs of vehicles.

Farmlands in Ta Kwu Ling have witnessed frost covering grass and crops, Apple Daily reports.

The Hong Kong Observatory forecast dry and cold weather for Wednesday and Thursday morning. Minimum temperatures will range between 10C and 12C, with highs of 16 degrees.
