Police are investigating the cause of a KMB – Kowloon Motor Bus – crash on Tsing Kwai Highway in the New Territories on Tuesday morning.

A video clip uploaded on Facebook showed footage from a dashboard camera on a vehicle behind KMB bus No. 268C on Tsing Kwai Highway near Mei Foo going down a slope into a curve then suddenly running into the fence on its right side.

The driver immediately turned the public bus into the right lane and it went on sliding into the fence for a few meters.

The bus finally stopped, with smoke coming out from the back of the vehicle.

A 36-year-old female passenger, who injured her hands and legs, was sent to the hospital for medication, Apple Daily reported.

Police received a report about the incident at 9:03 am and said the 60-year-old bus driver had claimed that he lost control due to the vehicle being hit by a bird.

A spokesperson for the bus operator said they were investigating the cause of the accident.

268C is a route from Long Ping Station in the New Territories to Kwun Tong Ferry in Kowloon.
