Hong Kong police are looking for someone who apparently fired a pellet gun at a private car and a pedestrian in Ma On Shan in Sha Tin, New Territories, on Thursday.

At midnight, a 25-year-old man and his wife were traveling in his car near Kam Mei House of Kam Fung Court when they heard three or four loud bangs on the roof of the vehicle, Headline Daily reported.

The driver then saw a few pellets rolling from the roof of his car on to the windshield.

At the same time, a man and a woman passed by. The woman screamed suddenly.

The driver of the car suspected that his vehicle and the female pedestrian had been shot at with an airgun. He called the police, but the woman left the scene.

Police found a number of airgun pellets on the ground, and cracks on a traffic mirror on the street corner. However, no suspect has been found.

Police classified the case as criminal damage. The crime unit of Sha Tin Police Station is handling the case, and officers returned to the scene on Thursday afternoon to investigate further.

An Apple Daily reporter found about hundred airgun pellets in planters near Kam Mei House.
