Hong Kong police say they arrested 23 people in an early-morning raid on Friday on an illegal casino in an apartment in Sham Shui Po, Kowloon.
At 1am, a 51-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man were arrested for allegedly operating the gambling den on Apliu Street, Sing Tao Daily reported.
Another 47-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assisting the casino operation.
A further 13 men and seven women aged between 19 and 60 were arrested for gambling in the establishment.
Police confiscated gambling paraphernalia and HK$24,000 (US$3,070) from the apartment, which had been operating the casino for three months, Oriental Daily reported. All of those arrested were detained for further investigation.
