Police have appealed for information about a young boy found abandoned in Kowloon Park in Tsim Sha Tsui on Tuesday.

The boy, aged about six to eight years old, was found at 2pm sitting in a stroller in the park, according to a government release.

The boy is about 1.3 meters tall and weighs 40 kilograms. He has a pointed face with a yellow complexion and short black hair.

He was wearing an orange jacket and pink trousers when found near the Kung Fu Corner in the park as the temperature had dropped to 8 degrees Celsius.

No identity documents were found. But the boy speaks a Chinese dialect, which has led police to suspect he is from mainland China.

The boy – believed to have polio – was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for observation. He had no apparent injuries.

After checking surveillance camera footage, officers found that a man took the boy to the park and then left, Sing Tao Daily reported.

Police have urged his relatives or anyone who has information about the boy to contact any police station or officers at Yau Tsim District Police on 3661 9200 or 3661 9225.
