A 36-year-old woman has reported her maid to police for allegedly bathing her two children with cold water in Chai Wan on Tuesday.
The woman surnamed Lui, found her 31-year-old domestic worker planning to bath her daughter, aged 4, and one-year-old son at 9am in a flat in Bayview Park on Hong Man Street in Chai Wan, Headline Daily reported.
However, the mother discovered that the maid only had cold water in the bathtub and had not added any warmer water.
Hong Kong has been suffering a cold snap recently and temperatures in urban areas dropped to 8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday morning.
The woman reported the case to police as she suspected that the domestic worker, whose nationality was not disclosed, had “abused” her two children.
After an initial investigation, officers found that the woman was in a dispute with the domestic worker over her employment contract, Oriental Daily reported.
But police found the two children did not touch any cold water. Officers believed that the case was not child abuse and classed it as a dispute. No one was arrested.
It was understood that the employer contacted the employment agency after the incident and terminated the maid’s contract.

TRUTH always PREVAIL….mostly EMPLOYERS over reacted with their report about their maids, added that they cannot accept how they treat well or treat like human their HELPERS, yet we HELPERS do our JOB/RESPONSIBILITIES as HELPERS/NANNY to their CHILDRENS, some EMPLOYERS putting video cams, cannot provide own rooms with their helpers, we eat what they give, sometimes send helpers to their mothers home to clean do household chorse though it was dangerous or illigal but we dont have choices sometimes, We helpers accept it bec we need works, we dont like to break/terminate our contract as long we still can work…….yet we have different experience but mostly thats the main problems of HELPERS, so to all my co fellow workers, just be remain HONEST with your WORK/EMPLOYERS, HK LAW is LAW it was really FAIR……GOD always with us ????

To this crazy employer! First of all, most of us , HELPERS, doesn’t use cold water during winter season UNLESS you switched off your heater to save electricity! If a lot of this crazy employer who belittle their helpers will show up in HK, we might ask the government to ban sending more helpers in HK just like what happened to Kuwait.. these employers thinks highly of themselves didn’t even realize they won’t be able to earn more money without us looking after their kids! Why not tell the truth what kind of nationality the helper is..stupid employers just pretending just a case against the helper but luckily the police dont believe and children tell the truth..fights back helper against ur stupid and no brain employer..justice is a must..

Mayron akong sister inlaw..patapus.na siya ng 4years sa amo nya….nagtanong siya sa amo kong erenew pa siya..sagot ng amo nya..malaman daw angbkasagutan ng employer nya first week ng.march…matapus contract sister inlaw ko ng april 18.so nag umpisa ng mag hakot ng mga damit ang sister inlaw ko para just incase na ayaw na siya ng amo wala na siya madami abobot…kagabi.pag uwi nya galing day off..binukalkal lahat ng amo nya babae ang mga gamit nya..pati invikop na ang.laman resebo ng cebuana.tinignan at d binalik ng.maayos…dumating sister inlaw ko wala amo nya.sa bahay kumain sa labas..pero ang gamit niya hinalungkat ng babaeng employer nya.ng wala siya…kasi day off nya kahapon…
