A hotel manager in Dubai has been jailed for three months after groping a Filipino staff member twice at a hotel in Palm Jumeirah.

The 50-year-old Sri Lankan manager was found guilty of sexual harassment and will be deported after his jail term, Khaleej Times reported.

The victim, a 37-year-old Filipino hotel employee, was groped twice on her bottom by the manager in December after a staff meeting.

The woman reported the incident to Al Barsha Police Station, while accompanied by a fellow employee. The 45-year-old Pakistani employee said he had witnessed the incident and he also gave a statement.

On January 25 at the Dubai Court of First Instance, the manager said he unintentionally touched the woman’s posterior.

However, he was found guilty and was given three months in jail. After serving his term, he will be deported.
