A Filipino transgender woman has caused a sensation by singing both the male and female parts in the song The Prayer on South Korea’s musical game show I Can See Your Voice.

The celebrity panel were initially skeptical when call center agent Sephy Francisco said she would perform the duet made famous by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion in the first episode of the show’s fifth season, ABS-CBN News reported.

But they were blown away by her rendition of the song, as was the  audience. She had already performed the same song on the Philippine version of the show in October, when she was sadly eliminated.

Francisco told the Korean audience that she dreams of being a singer and she wants to bring her voice to the world. However, she was also eliminated from that show.

Undaunted, Francisco posted on Facebook on January 28 that she will now try her luck in the British version of The X Factor.

The breadwinner of her family, Francisco started singing at the age of nine in a church choir. When she is not working in the call centre she performs at events and parties to support her family.

“Before we are very, very poor and I really want to pursue my dreams to be a singer and to inspire others,” she said.
