An Australian and his Filipino partner in Cebu City, Philippines, were sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of human trafficking and child-pornography charges.

In April 2013, Drew Frederick Shobbrook and Leslie Ann Fernandez were arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation in Shobbrook’s apartment in Cebu City, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

The NBI said a total of 15 women, including four minors, were rescued during the operation. Three of the women said they had been paid to perform sexual acts in front of Web cameras.

The NBI recovered laptops, desktop computers, hard disks that contained explicit photographs, two guns and several sex toys at the apartment.

On Tuesday in a Cebu City court, Shobbrook and Fernandez were found guilty of human trafficking and child pornography and were sentenced to life in prison.

Shobbrook was also fined 3 million pesos (US$57,540) and Fernandez 2 million pesos ($38,360), ABS-CBN News reported.
