Macau judiciary police arrested three men from the Philippines – all migrant workers – for alleged drug trafficking on Wednesday.
The three men surnamed Robeto, Taguiam and Domingo, aged from 24 to 42, were arrested for illegal drug use, drug trafficking and possession of tools for taking drugs, Hou Kong Daily reported.
Acting on a tip-off, officers first intercepted Robeto and Taguiam on Rua do Almirante Costa Cabral and found a small amount of suspected methamphetamine on them.
The duo told police that they bought the suspected drugs from Domingo for 300 Macau patacas (US$38).
Police arrested Domingo on Thursday and seized a small amount of methamphetamine on him. He said he bought the illegal substance from an Indian man in Hong Kong.
Police then searched their flats and found 1.48 grams of suspected meth with an estimated street value of 5,000 Macau patacas. Tools for taking drugs and for packaging were seized.
The three men were sent to the public prosecutors’ office.
